The problem of “gutter oil” in Asia continues as news of the latest food scandal emerges involving Taiwanese food oil manufacturer Chang Guann Co, which has led to product recalls in Hong Kong and Taiwan. “Gutter” oil is illegal cooking oil that has been recycled from waste oil or discarded animal parts.
