Organisers of the 14th Euro Fed Lipid Congress being held on 18-21 September 2016 in Ghent, Belgium say the congress programme is now available and registration is open.

Euro Fed Lipid said as well as being an important science and research centre, Ghent is an economic centre due to its seaport with a direct connection with the North Sea.

“Next to steel manufacture and cars assembly, Ghent seaport is one of the most important harbours for the handling of agricultural products. The development of Ghent Bio-Economy Valley has created the most important centre in Europe for the production of biofuels and renewable energy.”

The theme of the symposium is dealing with innovations in sustainable food and non-food production from oils, fats and lipids, covering the integrated supply chain. Topics involve analytics, authenticity, lipidomics, biotechnology and enzyme technology, health and nutrition, lipids in animal science, oleochemistry, biofuel and biosurfactants, olive oil and other virgin oils, palm oil, microbial and algae oils, lipid oxidation and quality, physical chemistry, processing and sustainable sourcing.

The congress will be held at Ghent’s International Conference Centre.

“This year, there is also the opportunity to book space at the popular table top exhibition, which is located between the main lecture hall and the breakout rooms in the middle of the catering area,” Euro Fed Lipid said.
