South Korean start-up Koru Pharmaceuticals has developed a skincare range with hemp seed oil, healthbts.com wrote on 16 June.

Seoul-bases Koru specialises in anti-ageing and skin rejuvenating products and its portfolio includes fillers, face masks, threads and lipolytics.

The company’s latest launch, Mesohemp, is a skincare range derived from a Korean hemp variant, known as green hemp – a hybrid of hemp imported from the Netherlands and a local native species, according to the brand’s website.

According to the company, the hemp hybrid, which has been studied by the National Institute of Agricultural Science, contains a higher percentage of CBD and less tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) – the main psychoactive constituent of cannabis.

Mesohemp’s oil is unrefined to retain its natural nutrients such as Vitamins A, D, E and omega 3, 6 and 9.

The range includes a cream, serum, sunblock, toner and hemp seed oil face masks.

“Everyone knows that the USA and Canada are enormous markets. | believe if we make it in these markets… then from there we will transfer to different territories across the globe,” Koru advertising director Liam Lusk said.
