US grain trader Scoular Co has invested an undisclosed amount in Ohio-based grains producer Rogers Grain and established a joint venture to develop the business.
The Scoular and Rogers Grain cooperation would focus specifically on growing Rogers’ speciality soyabean and corn businesses, said Scoular in a 28 August statement.
Brent Rogers, president of Rogers Grain, said the companies’ combined strength would provide farmers in Ohio with improved access to premium markets for high quality speciality grains.
Scoular operates more than 100 strategic offices, grain elevators and processing facilities in North and South America and Asia buying, selling, storing and processing grain and ingredients.
Rogers Grain is a family-owned grain business active in farming, agronomy and grain handling.
