OFI June 2019

Our June 2019 issue focuses on bleaching earths, examining how lab-scale testing can be a useful tool in looking at process interactions, clay activity and formation of 3-MCPD fatty esters in relation to bleaching. We also look at how natural bleaching earths pre-blended with steam activated carbons have been shown to be a beneficial alternative to acid-activated bleaching earths in removing undesirable components during edible oil refining.

On the topic of biofuels, we report on the US production of both first- and second-generation biofuels and the challenges to future production.

The issue includes OFI’s annual plant and technology guide, with a fully updated selection of plant and equipment suppliers to the oils and fats industry, accompanied by a chart of company activities.

OFI’s regular mix of news, event listings and statistics also feature in the June issue.

A bonus distribution of this issue will be made at the:

16th Global Oleochem Summit, Dalian, China, 17-19 July 2019
