Leading Thai biofuel producers and distributors Bangchak and BBGI have teamed up with local vegetable oil and renewable energy company Thanachok Oil Light to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) from used cooking oil (UCO), the companies announced.
The venture will involve the establishment of a new production unit in the Bangchak Refinery, which will initially produce approximately 1M litres/day of SAF, according to the 28 April statement.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish the joint venture was signed by Bangchak Group CEO and president Chaiwat Kovavisarat, BBGI Public Company Limited CEO and president Kittipong Limsuwanroj and Thanachok Oil Light Company Ltd managing director Thanawat Linjongsubongkot.
