Thai energy company Bangchak Corporation has entered a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) supply agreement with Singapore-based Shell International Eastern Trading Company (Shell).

As part of the agreement, Bangchak said it would deliver ISCC EU/CORSIA-certified SAF to Shell.

“This partnership is an essential step in achieving our goal of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050,” Bangchak Corporation group CEO and president Chaiwat Kovavisarach said.

Currently under construction, Bangchak’s 1M litres/day SAF production facility in Bangkok would have a 1M litres/day capacity once operational, the company said on 12 November.

Expected to be operational in the second quarter of 2025, the facility would use used cooking oil as its primary feedstock.
