Soyabean production in Brazil reached a record 180.6M tonnes in 2025/26 – a 5% year-on-year increase, according to National Supply Company (Conab) data reported by World Grain.
In its 10th survey of the current harvest published on 14 July, Conab said the record soyabean crop was due to a 2.7% increase in planted area, a good use of technology by producers and favourable weather conditions.
Ending stocks for soyabeans were adjusted to 8.8M tonnes, due to an increase in grain processing and exports, estimated in July at 62.57M tonnes and 116.3M tonnes, respectively, the 15 July report said.
Total Brazilian grain production – including corn, wheat, rice and soyabeans – was forecast to surge by 2.1% to a record 360.1M tonnes, up 7.8M tonnes from 2024/25 and up 1.5M tonnes from the June outlook.
The forecast was due to a larger total planted area, projected at 83.5M ha, while the national average crop yield was expected to remain stable, projected at 4,311kg/ha, Conab said.
Total production of the three corn crops in the current cycle was estimated at 141.7M tonnes, an increase of 0.4%. Carryover stocks expected for 31 January 2027 were adjusted to 14.5M tonnes.
