BASF’s European distribution organisation for speciality chemicals BTC Europe and Dutch biomass-derived chemical manufacturer NXTLEVVEL Biochem have formed a partnership to distribute bio-based and biodegradable solvents in Europe, BASF announced.
The venture would give customers access to solvents derived from non-food crop biomass, the company said in the 24 May statement.
“The cooperation with NXTLEVVEL Biochem will create new opportunities for future growth and strengthen our position in the European distribution business,” BTC Europe managing director Jose Corral Montilla said.
BTC Europe, which has its headquarters in Monheim am Rhein, Germany, supplies small and medium-sized companies from a range of industries with about 6,000 products.
Headquartered in the Netherlands, NXTLEVVEL Biochem is a joint venture between Towell Engineering Group and GF Biochemicals producing levulinate derivatives at industrial scale for markets with a high demand for bio-based chemicals such as the industrial and institutional cleaning, home and personal care, coatings and agriculture sectors.
