Global agribusiness giant Bunge and Canadian ingredient manufacturer Blendtek Ingredients have signed a plant protein distribution agreement, Blendtek Ingredients announced.
In addition to distributing Bunge’s protein portfolio to key market segments, Blendtek would provide product formulation expertise and blending capabilities to help customers quickly meet rising consumer demand, the company said on 22 August.
Under the agreement, Blendtek said it would offer Bunge proteins made from soyabean, pea, faba beans, lentil, and mung beans, including concentrates and isolates, as well as powders and textures.
Bunge’s proteins can be used to make products for use in meat and dairy alternatives and the sports & nutrition, snacks, bakery, pet and processed meat sectors. The portfolio includes non-GMO, allergen-free, gluten-free, vegan, and dairy-free options.
“Bunge and Blendtek share a commitment to working closely with customers to provide the right combination of quality ingredients and application expertise to support the creation of… plant-based foods and beverages,” Rick Jackson, director of Protein Sales for Bunge in North America, said.
