China has revised its measures on labelling agricultural genetically modified organisms (GMOs), according to a report by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

The People’s Republic of China (PRC) notified the World Trade Organization (WTO) about the changes on 24 November, the USDA’s China - Revised Draft Measures on Labeling Agricultural GMOs report said.

Revised draft measures include a requirement for products to be labelled if the GM ingredient content of single crop exceeded 3% and changes to the products listed in the catalogue and requirements for “non-GMO” labelling, according to the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS)’s 29 November report.

No deadline had been set for comments, the USDA said.
