The European Union (EU) seed crushers and oil processors’ federation (FEDIOL) has launched a new website outlining the health and nutritional benefits of vegetable oils and fats.
Launched in Brussels on 12 December, the “Facts on vegetable oils” website provides information about vegetable oils and fats, including their characteristics, their role in healthy diets, their EU labelling and their health benefits.
The website also contains a section on how vegetable oils and fats are perceived in national and international dietary guidelines.
FEDIOL said the website was part of action it was taking to implement the EU Code of Conduct on responsible food business and marketing practices, launched by the European Commission under the European Green Deal and which the trade association had signed up to in June 2021.
