Biofuel supplier GoodFuels has halted deliveries to Singapore, Ship & Bunker reported.
The move was part of a consolidation of the company’s global operations, GoodFuels general manager Jing Xieng JX Han was quoted as saying in the 6 November report.
“FincoEnergies has decided to consolidate GoodFuels operations in the Asia Pacific and ARA regions,” Han said in a LinkedIn post.
“While the GoodFuels team will continue its efforts to decarbonise global shipping from the Amsterdam office, we will be stopping all biofuel deliveries in Singapore with immediate effect.”
As part of the consolidation, Han would be stepping down from her role, the report said.
In an email to Ship & Bunker, a GoodFuels representative said after evaluating market conditions, the company had decided to focus on its activities in Europe to maximise its impact on transport decarbonisation.
“As part of this strategic move, we are centralising our operations at our headquarters in The Netherlands, while maintaining our commitment to serving clients through our European base,” the company representative said.
“GoodFuels will continue to serve its client base with physical biofuel deliveries in the ARA region.”
Singapore overtook Rotterdam as the largest global bio-bunkering port in the third quarter of this year, Ship & Bunker wrote.
