Hammonia Oleochemicals expands cosmetics partnership with Industrial Química Lasem

A partnership between Hammonia OleoChemicals (HOC) and Spain’s Industrial Química Lasem (IQL) has been expanded in Germany, Hamburg-based HOC announced on 4 April.

Following the move, oleochemical distributor HOC would be supplying IQL’s speciality esters, in addition to the existing products of IQL’s parent company Nisshin Oillio, for cosmetics applications in Germany.

The co-operation between the two partners began in 2018 for applications other than cosmetics.

Barcelona-based IQL is a leading European oleochemicals manufacturer and has a portfolio of emollients, emulsifiers and thickeners for personal care applications.

Speaking about the partnership, Marc Schlüter, managing partner of HOC, said: “For our customers in Germany, the high-performance products create additional synergies with our natural waxes and thickeners in their formulations.”

IQL chief commercial officer Dr Angel Martinez added: “Our customers’ demand for natural raw materials is increasing in many markets, especially in German-speaking countries. With HOC we have a distribution partner which can represent us excellently on the market.”
