Swedish marine fuel supplier ScanOcean and biofuel producer Vegoil – part of Energifabriken – have launched a renewable marine fuel blend.
As part of the partnership, the vessel Key Fjord was bunkered with a B30-DMA fuel containing renewable feedstock RME (rapeseed methyl ester) supplied by Energifabriken on 19 July in the port of Oskarshamn, Vegoil said on 30 July.
Certified according to ISCC-EU standards, the fuel helps reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in compliance with EU ETS obligations and enhances the Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) and Clean Shipping Index (CSI) scores for vessels, according to the companies.
“Sustainable shipping is not just a future goal but a present reality. We hope to inspire other ship and cargo owners to take similar steps towards reducing GHG emissions,” Vegoil’s Christopher Thelin said.
ScanOcean offers a range of products, including fuel with renewable content, certified under ISCC.
Specialising in renewable fuels for heating and transportation needs, Vegoil operates in the Nordic region.
