US employee-owned agribusiness Scoular has completed work on its new canola/soyabean crushing facility in Goodland, northwest Kansas.
After its acquisition of the former sunflower crushing plant in 2021, Scoular converted the facility into a dual oilseed crushing plant.
Due to become operational in October, the facility would process 33,287 bushels (906 tonnes)/day or 11M bushels (300,000 tonnes)/year of oilseeds, the company said on 18 September.
The facility would provide a supply of vegetable oils to the renewable fuels market as well as feed products to dairy, beef, poultry and pork producers, Scoular said.
In addition to processing soyabeans and canola, the Goodland facility can also crush other oilseeds.
Nebraska-based Scoular buys, sells, stores, handles and processes grain and ingredients and has more than 100 offices and facilities in North America and Asia.
According to Sosland Publishing Co’s 2023 Grain & Milling Annual, the company operates 48 country elevators and 15 processing plants in North America.
